The aim of the conference was to concentrate on developing ways to best harness EU funding post-2013 and develop the Welsh economy to create more sustainable jobs and growth.

The conference drew on experience and expertise from a wide range of sources including Local Government, Higher Education, Business, Trade Unions and the Voluntary Sector amongst others and speakers included:

Alun Davies AM, Welsh Labour’s Deputy Minister for European Programmes and also Derek Vaughan MEP.

Ann Jones said:

“It was an excellent conference which drew on expertise from right across Wales.

“It’s important that we use everyone’s talents because the need to create a vibrant and dynamic North Wales economy, providing sustainable growth and jobs, is crucial.

“Funding from Europe is vitally important in boosting the economy; key to this is to make sure the money is spent where it has the biggest impact.

“I want to thank Optic for playing such great hosts and I’m always pleased to show-off the great resources and companies at St Asaph Business Park.”
