AM invites local businesses to apply to join trade missions

Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd Ann Jones has joined the Welsh Labour Government’s Business Minister, Edwina Hart, in inviting Welsh companies to participate in trade missions to the United States, China and Canada in 2013.

Business Minister Edwina Hart announced that Government supported places are now available for multi-sector trade missions to the U.S. West Coast from 10-15 February, Chongqing, China from 2- 9 March and Montreal, Canada from 21-26 April.

Businesses will have the opportunity to attend briefings and networking events and the Welsh Labour Government will be able to provide assistance identifying, contacting and arranging meetings with potential clients.

Vale of Clwyd AM, Ann Jones, has urged local businesses, of any size, within her constituency to take the opportunity to apply to go on these trade missions. They are aimed at aiding companies to grow, develop key contacts overseas and to boost growth and jobs in Wales.

 Ann Jones said:

“These trade missions, to the USA, China and Canada, provide a unique opportunity for Welsh businesses, of all sizes, to connect with companies and experts overseas and to foster productive partnerships in new markets around the world.

“Trade missions are an excellent platform to further develop the profile of Wales around the World. We have a lot to offer, and so I very much hope that businesses in the Vale of Clwyd will seize this opportunity.

“By encouraging and supporting local companies we can help develop sustainable economic growth, encourage trade, investment and job creation here at home.”

Applications for the US trade mission close on 11 January, applications for the mission to China close on 31 January and the closing date for the mission to Canada is 15 March.
