Labour AM throws her support behind Armed Forces Day

Labour AM, Ann Jones will join the legions of supporters on Saturday 29th June in commemorating the armed forces service men and women who have given their service both past and present, and to whom we are indebted to.

Ms Jones commented: “Armed Forced Day isn’t just another day, it’s a commemoration of what our brave servicemen achieved in days gone by whether that be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First Word War or the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. It is clear that past sacrifices should never be forgotten. This is a timely opportunity to reflect on conflicts past and learn lessons for today.

“As well as commemorating the past, this special day reminds us of the need to support our servicemen and women who are currently deployed overseas.

“We are forever and always indebted to the work of the Armed Forces, not only do they protect our way of life but aim to protect those of whom they’re fighting for in regions of conflict. I urge everyone to attend their local Armed Forces Day event in marking the work they carry out.”

Armed Forces Day is a UK wide event that celebrates and remembers the work of our service men and women in the past, present and for years to come. To learn more about the event or to find out where your local event is being held visit the Armed Forces Day website below:
