Rhyl wins Silver at RHS Britain in Bloom Awards 2012

Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd, Ann Jones has reacted to the news that Rhyl has won Silver at RHS Britain in Bloom Awards 2012.

Ann Jones said:

“This is fantastic news. Winning silver on our first attempt in the Britain in Bloom Awards is no mean feat and I want to pay particular tribute to all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to get Rhyl ready for the competition, without them this simply wouldn’t have happened.

“One of the key criteria for winning the award was ‘community participation’ it’s safe to say that in Rhyl, when we need to come together and get something done – we do.

“Over sixty organisations came together to prepare Rhyl for the competition and I congratulate every one of them for their hard work. A key factor that prestigious awards like this have is to attract visitors and investment into the area encouraging local businesses to flourish and create jobs. I hope that our fantastic achievement in Rhyl will see these kinds of benefits too.”
