Statement on flooding in Rhyl

“Last Thursday’s devastating floods were a huge blow to the local community in the run up to Christmas. As the clear up operation begins, many people have found themselves in temporary accommodation and some are in desperate need of rehousing.

“I was pleased to see the Minister for Natural Resources, Alun Davies in Rhyl last Friday, so he could see first hand the uphill task we face in order to get our community back on its feet. I will press upon the Minister and his officials the desperate need for urgent work to take place and make sure that all the support that is possible to help those affected is provided.

“Rhyl is a wonderful town with a strong sense of community spirit and this will be vital in ensuring that people are able to return to their homes as soon as possible.

“My staff and I are, as always, ready to assist any constituent who requires my help and I urge anyone in the area to get in touch with my office in Rhyl on 01745 332813”.
