AM hails investment of £45,000 in Rhyl’s Town Centre
Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd, Ann Jones has hailed the investment of over £45,000 from the Welsh Labour Government to encourage residents and visitors into Rhyl town centre to shop and for leisure.
The announcement was made by the Welsh Labour Government’s Regeneration Minister, Huw Lewis. The £45,000 of revenue funding will allow the Rhyl Town Centre Manager to deliver a variety of events and activities in the town during 2013 to improve the vibrancy, cleanliness and safety of Rhyl, to develop a plan for Rhyl Market to ensure that it enhances the town centre offer and to develop a range of training and enterprise support for town centre businesses.
Ann Jones said:
“This is excellent news; £45,000 of extra funding will go a long way to helping Rhyl’s town centre become a dynamic and vibrant place to visit and shop.
“Given the recently disappointing news, this funding announcement is a vital step forward in the right direction.
“I have every confidence that Rhyl City Strategy and the Town Centre Manager will ensure that this investment delivers real benefits for local businesses, residents and also in attracting visitors from Wales and beyond.”
