AM welcomes £11.5m investment in recycling
Ann Jones, Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd has welcomed the announcement of a scheme of £11.5m extra investment and an extension to a programme that supports Welsh councils to increase recycling rates.
Mrs Jones said: “Denbighshire has been leading the way on recycling and has been performing very well in comparison with other Welsh local authorities. We must never be complacent and I welcome the announcement of this new funding to further improve recycling rates”.
The Collaborative Change Programme will run at least until the end of the 2015/16 financial year. This year, the Welsh Labour Government is providing £3.5m in funding for local authorities, increasing to £4m each year from 2014/15.
The Programme is open to all Welsh local authorities and provides specialist advice to help them to achieve recycling targets with efficient services, within their financial means.
