Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd Ann Jones has pledged her support for the ‘Not in my Name’ campaign to mark White Ribbon Day.

White Ribbon Day takes place on the 25th November and is also known as the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The campaign urges people to wear a white ribbon as visible pledges never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.

Ann Jones AM said:

“Domestic abuse is a heinous crime. It ruins lives and has a lasting impact on those who are the victims of it and their loved ones.

“Whilst a lot of work has been done, both by the Labour Welsh Government and by communities at a local level, to tackle domestic violence there still remains the wider issue of complacency.

“I would urge anyone suffering from domestic abuse or anyone concerned about a friend or neighbour to call the All Wales Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 80 10 800.”

There are plenty of ways people in the Vale of Clwyd can highlight the campaign and stand up to end domestic violence on White Ribbon Day; be it in their community, workplace, faith group or social club.
