Ann Jones AM backs Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’

Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd Ann Jones has given her backing to Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’. On Friday 14th December, people right across Wales will be wearing Christmas jumpers to help raise vital funds for vulnerable children across the world.

Many UK and Welsh celebrities are already backing the appeal which will see schools and workplaces across Wales taking part in fundraising activities by wearing festive knits.

People are being encouraged to share their pictures on Twitter with #xmasjumperday hashtag and on the Facebook page:

Ann Jones said:

“I hope people right across the community will join with me in wearing a festive jumper to help raise vital funds for good causes both at home and overseas.

“All of the money raised goes to causes like ensuring that children here in Wales, who would otherwise go through winter without a warm coat or a decent pair of shoes, are helped. Or in funding simple solutions like vaccines, clean water and mosquito nets which save lives to help the more than 7 million children under the age of five who die every year from easily preventable causes like diarrhoea, malaria and malnutrition.”
