Ann Jones AM visits North Wales Coast Normandy Veterans Association
Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd, Ann Jones has visited the North Wales Coast Normandy Veterans Association for their annual Christmas Dinner on Friday 14th December.
Mrs Jones took time out of her busy schedule to visit the Normandy veterans in the run up to Christmas. The visit gave the Vale of Clwyd Assembly Member the opportunity to sit and talk with the veterans over Christmas Dinner.
Ann Jones said:
“I am really glad to have been able to visit the veterans, to sit down and chat with them over Christmas dinner and to listen to them reminisce about their extraordinary experiences.
“We should never forget the sacrifices made by those who have served, and continue to serve, on our behalf, both at home and abroad, and the debt of gratitude that we owe to them.
“It’s a sad reality of life that the number of Normandy veterans gets fewer as the years pass, making it all the more important that we take this opportunity to show our thanks for their sacrifice and our commitment to make sure their experiences of heroism in the face of fascism are told to our children and our children’s children.”
