Rhyl’s crime figures demonstrate more good news about our town, says local AM
Vale of Clwyd AM and lifelong Rhyl resident, Ann Jones, has hailed the steep reduction in crime in the town.
Crime has fallen across all parts of Rhyl. Over the past year, crime in the West End has fallen 26.5%.
Mrs Jones said: “This is fantastic news for the whole community. Our town is a vibrant one with heaps of community spirit. These figures are down to the hard work of our local Police and people who work on the frontlines in our community working together. I congratulate everyone who has made this possible.
“It is an important part of the regeneration of our town and the challenge for us now is to keep the good news coming so we can send the message that Rhyl is a fantastic place to live and visit, far and wide.
“It is also clear that the investment of the Welsh Labour Government to recruit more PCSO’s has paid off”.
In its 2011 election manifesto, Welsh Labour pledged to recruit 500 new PCSOs across Wales.
